@Twisted_Shadow equates carrying a baby to term, and giving it life, to slavery. This is one of many of the really stupid arguments choicer's use.
Slaves HAD NO choice. If knowing the life they would have to endure, and they would have been given a choice prior to boarding the slave ship, I'm going to guess they would have refused.
Much like if a woman knows she risks getting pregnant by having sex, she should refuse. It's not rocket science. Sex can result in pregnancy. And biologically, that's the way it's supposed to work.
By pro-choice logic, we should murder toddlers who are in the terrible twos? It's simply slavery chasing them around all day.

ReplyDeleteThat would be the point of the comparison. Antichoicers want women to have no choice. Thus, making women slaves forced to birth against their will.
But women DO have a choice. For instance, abstaining from sex until she is able to support the child that may be conceived as the rusult of her (and him) having sex. To kill a fetus just because it's not the right time is just wrong. Lots of babies are born in less than ideal circumstances, and they thrive.

It does not matter what other 'freedoms' women may have, if they don't have the right to choose abortion as an option, then they are slaves. As in NOT FREE at all.
In slavery, someone has to benefit from your labor. Who benefits from killing a fetus? The woman? That would make her the slave owner wouldn't it? Also, the abortionist benefits finacially. Is he/she the slave owner?
