I believe all women should have the right to earn equal pay, for equal work. I believe women should not be over-looked for the job of CEO, as long as she earns that position, and is suitable for it. I believe women should be able to work a construction job, or drive an 18-wheeler is she so chooses. She should be able to operate a back-hoe or be a fire-fighter, if she chooses. Feminists want to be equal to men, and in doing so, have lost respect for being a woman.
That is not something I am willing to give up. As a woman, I appreciate men opening doors for me. I appreciate men showing their respect (and how strong they are) by volunteering to change the flat tire on my car. I appreciate men who work from sun up to sun down, supporting their families. I also appreciate women who work 24/7 keeping the home running. Women often work a full time job, and run their home as well. Women are capable of so many things, and should be respected for all of them.
But the one thing women can do that men can't, is have a baby. Women were built for this, biologically. In gaining equality, feminists have lost respect for their femininity. And worse, they sacrificed respect for my femininity, all for their cause. They didn't ask me what I wanted, they just took it.
So this tweet the other day was no surprise, but it was still sad to see.
"Welcome to equality" - The gist of the conversation went like this.
In the world of feminism, men calling women a "misogynistic idiot" is approved, even applauded. "Name calling ends the argument", unless of course you're the one(s) doing the name calling.
In the world of pro-choice feminism, double standards are a standard.
Funny. Because I posted pics of what you said to JessRavenGordon on my blog six days ago:
ReplyDeletehttp://aikenareaprogressive.blogspot.com/2011/08/more-proof-that-anti-choice-movement.html
jovan - Your post proves nothing, absolutely nothing.
ReplyDeleteI called @JessRavenGordon 'honey', to see how fiery her reaction would be. She didn't disappoint.
ReplyDeleteAny sort of even vague notion that pro-legal-abortionists stand up for "women's rights" was discovered to be laughable by me as soon as I started using Twitter. Since then, I've been called a "c--t" more times than I'd ever even heard that word in my life to that point. Women are at the very most secondary to them. The ability to have sex without ever having to give another human being consideration is paramount to these people.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's funny how pro-aborts think a pro-lifer calling them "honey", is worse than one of them calling a pro-life woman a c**t.

Its amazing how obsessed you people are with other people's sex life.
Jackie - How are most STD's spread? What causes the pregnancy that can result in abortion? SEX!!! You do what you want with your sex organs. But when it comes to the rampant spread of STD's, and the killing of human fetuses, damn right we'll say something.
ReplyDelete"But when it comes to the rampant spread of STD's, and the killing of human fetuses, damn right we'll say something."
ReplyDeleteMy health (sexual or otherwise) is a matter between me, my partner and my doctor. It has nothing to do with you or your anti-choice brigade. Hate to break it to you but its time to get a life. You should start by filling whatever void, anger or hatred you may have that makes you compulsively obsess about other people's lives.
Jackie - This doesn't concern just YOUR health. It concerns the health of anyone you sleep with. This could be my brother, my nephew, my friend.. This also concerns the baby. It's not all about you! Though I understand you are coming from a feminist POV.
ReplyDeletesorry sweetie, but when it involves my body it is my business and my business only.
ReplyDeleteIt's so amusing watching BOTH camps scream about which one has more misogynistic motivations. I'm Prochoice and happen to be an active member of the hash on Twitter. I can honestly tell you that I've had my life threatened, been labeled a wh*re, b*tch, c*nt, sl*ut, etc ALL by Prolife miscreants.
ReplyDeleteBOTH sides boast disrespectful people and behavior - but calling someone (who HAPPENS to have a vagina) an idiot is NOT misogyny. This type of flippant misuse does a great disservice to women who have suffered at the hands of REAL misogyny.
As for your preposterous claim that feminists have in some way pilfered your femininity, I call bullshit. You’re still MORE than welcome to play the damsel in distress when your car breaks down, or when an unopened door proves to be an unmovable mass without the help of a “strong” man. You still have the option to stay at home with your family and raise your children! The majority of feminists could care LESS what you decide to do with your life – that’s your CHOICE.
As for women’s reproductive and sexual health, we should have the best advancements available to us for our unique circumstances. Birth control and sexual education GREATLY reduce the risks of unintended pregnancies and STDS. Play safe and stop expecting other women to live the life YOU wish to lead.
Jackie honey, when it comes to innocent people getting hurt by you or other fems, it's not just your business, because it's not 'only' your body involved.
ReplyDeleteAuragasmic, Misogyny means "hatred of women". Pro-Lifers are called misogynists on a daily basis. I have also been called most of the slurs you mentioned.
You mentioned REAL misogyny. I'm convinced that most activists on both sides have no concept of the true meaning of the word. Can you give me an example of someone who is truly a misogynist?
As for me being a 'damsel in distress'.. I assure you I am not. Why would I want to get my hands dirty, and possibly get hurt, if there is a man around? Men are naturally physically stronger than women. I say let them have at it. Most men simply appreciate being appreciated anyway. And I do appreciate their efforts. The fact that you do not, is sad. Men are men, and women are women. They are not meant to be 'equal'.
I said that you also have the choice to work, at whatever profession you choose.
"Birth control and sexual education GREATLY reduce the risks of unintended pregnancies and STDS." I disagree. If you have proof of your claim, I would like you to share it.
AAG, It is up to two consenting adults to make sure a potential sexual partner is STD free and feels similar about family planning (or lack thereof). Its is not up to some third party (like you and your brigade) to monitor or intrude on others personal relationships.
ReplyDeleteRE: Consenting Adults. What about the teens? Planned Parenthood sells sex to kids.. who are their future STD and abortion clients. Those kids are kids, not consenting adults.
ReplyDelete"What about the teens?"
ReplyDeleteThat's why proper and factually correct sex ed should be taught to children and young adults.
Jackie - We are talking about kids. Do you really think telling them they are at risk for an STD is going to stop them from having sex? Do you really think they are going to remember to use a condom when in the heat of the moment? Abstaining is the only way to prevent STD's and unintended pregnancy. That's 'factually correct'.
ReplyDeleteNo just teach them nothing (oh, excuse me abstinence) and watch the STD rates soar, just like in Texas.
ReplyDeleteJackie - I didn't say 'teach them nothing'. Pound it in their heads that abstaining is the only way to prevent pregnancy and STD's.. Scare the hell out of them with reality. Let them know they will be respected for abstaining.
ReplyDeleteAnd by all means, tell them about condoms. but be honest by letting them know that 54% of women who have abortions, were using some form of birth control in the month she got pregnant.
"Virtually all teens who have had intercourse (98 percent) have used condoms.
But half also admitted they'd had sex without a condom." http://www.teenhelp.com/teen-sexuality/condoms.html
"Scare the hell out of them with reality."
ReplyDeleteRight on!
Did we actually agree on something? (expecting sarcastic come back)
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think scaring the hell out of kids will stop them from having sex. Just like the death penalty has proven to not be a determent for murder.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with teaching abstaining from sex to prevent pregnancy and STDs. However, I also think that its important to teach proper condom use, birth control options, etc incase they decide to have sex.
"No, I don't think scaring the hell out of kids will stop them from having sex. Just like the death penalty has proven to not be a determent for murder."
ReplyDeleteWhere does it say the death penalty isn't a deterent for murder? Seriously, I'd like to read it.
And btw, I think you're wrong about kids. They are smarter than you give then credit for. "If you have sex, use a condom" is giving them approval. "If you have sex, you may get a disease", is placing the responsibility on them to take all precautions necessary, preferably abstinance.
To answer the question on your twitter post: voicing skepticism about your intelligence is not misogyny, even if you are female.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like the entitled snowflakes I'm obliged to share classroom space with. "Oh, the professor hates me because I'm this, that, or the other. The prof's poor opinion of my work certainly cannot have anything to do with my ignorance of the topic, the lack of quality of thought or the total absence of originality with which I express myself, because thoughts like that wound my 'self of steam'."
It's depressing to see that some people don't grow out of it.
Wow Null, Nothing like a personal attack on someone's intelligence to show your 'tolerance'.
ReplyDeleteActually, I was reflecting on your maturity, not your intelligence. I'll let mjbyars deal with that.
ReplyDeleteMind you, I don't necessarily disagree, especially after you managed to throw in that non sequitur about tolerance. I thought I had made it very clear in my message that I have a low level of tolerance for the snowflake-y entitlement you demonstrated above no matter where it comes from.
I guess in your mind it goes: Anyone Who Disagrees With You = Liberal = Committed to Tolerance = Meaning that There Can Be No Possible Judgment of Anything Anyone Says, No Matter How Stupid, Ignorant, or Heinous.
Needless to say, any correspondence between your mental construct and any person either living or dead is purely coincidental.
